Women's Clinic of Greeley

Office (970) 352-6353

History of the Practice

The Women’s Clinic of Greeley was established in 1956 when Dr. Fred Roukema and Dr. Martin Bechtel joined forces as General Practitioners. Each physician left the practice temporarily to complete their OB/GYN residency while the other remained in the office to run the practice.

As the practice grew, physicians were added as needed. Donald Summerson, MD, Wayne Livermore, MD, and Stephen Kozloff, MD joined the staff over the years. When Paul Hiratzka, MD joined the staff in 1980, all physician offices were occupied. His office was contained in his personal backpack, which he carried with him from room to room!

Neil Allen, MD and Jean-Pierre O’Neal, MD became Women’s Clinic physicians in July of 1983 and September of 1983 respectively. What a great year!

Fate seems to have played a part in the scenario when Laurie Berdahl, MD was attempting to find a practice in this area at the same time the physicians were recruiting a fourth physician. She joined the office in May of 2000. And, in July of 2002, Michelle Stoltz, MD was chosen from a very long list of applicants to join the practice. We were the first and only practice in Greeley to have female OB/GYN’s .
